Problem Horses
We offer the rehabilitation of so called problem horses. We know that every horse has a story to tell. We make sure that all physical issues are being found and addressed by our experienced equine vet. We then work through their specific problems at liberty.

Backing and Schooling
Another passion of ours is the backing of young horses and schooling horses to become featherlight. In the end, your thoughts and your bodies are melted into one.

We believe in developing the horse’s physical and mental ‘sweet spot’ from the ground first. Later on, self carriage will develop from the inside out.

We LOVE schooling horses bit-less. However some horses don’t like any kind of pressure on their facial nerves, and others will have to get used to bits due to their competition career. In those cases we school the horses to understand the lightest cues of the bit.

Restart for off track Thoroughbreds

We have had great success with re-schooling right off the track Race horses. We address their mental health as well as their severe imbalanced bodies. We create safe and highly responsive, highly trained Thoroughbreds which can excel in other equestrian sports like dressage and showjumping.

Please note that we only take in 6 clients horses at a time and are often booked out months in advance.

We do monthly sessions for over 100 clients in Cape Town. We travel to your yard, as we believe that horses learn best in their trusted environment.

We regularly do 3-5 day clinics in George, Knysna, Plettenberg Bay and Johannesburg.

We also hold seminars in which we discuss certain topics with a power point presentation.

IBALANSI FARRIER SERVICE

Ibalansi & F-balance:

Adam is a certified F balance method farrier who specialises in barefoot trimming and shoeing horses.

F balance is established in Europe and especially Germany. F-balance is described as follows:

The F stands for flexibility. His take home message: the hoof is more flexible than the head. He trims the hoof according to three natural factors:

1. 'Heel length: Anz found that every heel shows where it wants to be cut by showing a little crack or bend caused by the stress of the overgrown material. The distance from the stress point to the hairline happens to be the same medial and lateral and even the same on both limbs of the fronts or hinds.'

2. 'Sole level: the hoof wall should be trimmed to the level of the functional sole.'

3. 'The functional sole may not be cut.'
